Danielle Duggleby,
For as far back as I can remember, I wanted to be an interior designer.
I have always had an interest in buildings and spaces, chatting about them, nosing about them!
My mum used to renovate our houses a lot and I loved to give my opinion about them and always decided my own room design. When I was younger she employed an Interior Designer and I used to think - I could do that.
So this is where my professional career as designer started, I enrolled in an Associate diploma in Interior Design whilst still at school and I was hooked, then a diploma and then on to get my Bachelor Degree in Interior Architecture
I spent 18 years working my way up to design director and I have worked on some incredible projects. These projects range from the Berkeley hotel London, Marcus Wareing restaurant, Lime house hotel, W hotels and Spas.
I was living a dream, but my dreams changed when I had my daughter. Whilst pregnant, we bought our house and started on our own design journey. The house we bought was not to our style and it needed some love and our personality adding. I love colour and I even managed to convince my monochrome-loving husband to have a red kitchen. Every day the kitchen makes me smile when I walk into it.
This renovation wasn’t easy, there were challenges along the way. But luckily I love a design challenge and did not shy away! We overcame any problems to create our beautiful home full of our personality. It’s my haven. I love coming home to it.
At the same time my mum sadly passed away, my dad bought a new house which needed a lot of work and he asked me to help him with his renovation. This was a dream of mine from being a little girl helping my mum to now designing my dads whole home.
These renovation projects made me realise I didn’t want to go back to my office job as a design director. Instead, I wanted to bring all my experience working on my previous projects - including my own home - to help families on their design journeys
So in 2022 I took the leap to set up my own business.
Since making this decision I have been spending my days working with countless families. They’re often time poor, suffering with decision fatigue or just too overwhelmed to bring their vision to life. I have loved creating their beautiful spaces for them, seeing them smile as they walk into the room. This makes me 100% convinced I made the right decision.
Family lives are so busy, with careers, drop offs, pick ups, clubs, etc. I know people want beautiful homes that embrace them rather than make them want to scream. Their house is your most expensive possession, it should help you in your life not hinder you. People find making design decisions really hard but I don’t, I love it.
I love bringing joy into family homes and creating spaces for them to enjoy. Whether it’s for playing, dinner time, a space to relax and unwind away from the kids or just be together. My mission is to offer my love of design to my clients so they can focus on life. And have a home that embraces them in every possible way.”
